Chocolate Chip Muffins with Not-So-Minty Ganache

Oh look! MUFFINS~ These were made for a birthday, hence the birthday candles :) (WAHH which category does this go in???)

First, I got this recipe from :iconkupenska: 's lovely website www.sunshineskitchen.com. Now mind you, the website is in Bulgarian. Thanks the heavens for Google Translate! :D Please check out her stuff! It's mindblowinggg~

Oh, the reason for the 'Not-So-Minty' part is because I forgot to add mint extract to the ganache. Fail, I know. =_=

Oh well, they turned out really yummy!~ Except, since I used chopped up chocolate instead of chocolate chips and I chopped the pieces too big, it all sunk to the bottom of the muffin! (Oh, I used 60% dark chocolate, btw) I'll try 50g of finely chopped chocolate next time~ This is the first time I've made ganache (and I believe the first time I've tried it, actually..) and it was DELICIOUS. I'm not an icing person, but I liked this one. :) (I substituted the sour cream with cream cheese and milk since I didn't have any xD)

I was originally going to use a star tip to ice the muffins but I didn't have one. :( So I borrowed a rose petal tip from a friend and did ruffles. On most of them xD My icing bag sorta broke and so the tip flew out splattering me and my muffins in icing. That was not cool. So some of them are a bit messy.. xD (Note to self: Use ganache right after making, otherwise it will start to turn solid...)
